Click-to-Call Extension Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what the ManyDial Click-to-Call browser extension (the “Extension”) does on your device, what data it can access, and how that data is used. The Extension is published by ManyDial Technologies Ltd (“ManyDial,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons (AMO), and is also compatible with Brave.

This document is specific to the Extension. For the rest of the ManyDial platform (web app, APIs, dashboard), please see our main Privacy Policy.

TL;DR — What you should know

  • The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your browsing history, personal data, or web content with ManyDial or any third party.
  • Phone-number detection happens entirely on your device, inside your browser.
  • A phone number is sent to the ManyDial web app only when you explicitly click to call it (and confirm in the popup, if enabled).
  • The Extension stores a small amount of settings data in your browser's built-in extension storage. Nothing is uploaded to ManyDial servers from the Extension itself.
  • There is no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no third-party SDKs inside the Extension.

1. What the Extension Does

The ManyDial Click-to-Call Extension turns phone numbers on any web page into one-click calls placed through your existing ManyDial Call Center session. Specifically, it can:

  • Detect Bangladesh-format mobile numbers (e.g. 01XXXXXXXXX, +8801XXXXXXXXX) in the visible text of web pages.
  • Underline detected numbers and show a small “Call with ManyDial” button on hover.
  • Intercept clicks on <a href="tel:…"> links so they dial via ManyDial instead of launching FaceTime / Phone Link (this can be turned off in settings).
  • Add a “Call <number> with ManyDial” option to the right-click context menu for selected text and tel: links.
  • Show an optional confirmation popup before placing each call.
  • Open or focus your ManyDial Call Center tab and hand off the number for dialing.

2. Data the Extension Accesses

To do its job the Extension needs access to certain information on your device. None of the following is transmitted to ManyDial or any third party:

A. Page content (read-only, locally)

The Extension scans the text content of pages you visit to find phone numbers and decorate tel: links. This scanning is performed entirely inside your browser tab. We do not read form fields, passwords, cookies, browsing history, or any non-textual content.

B. Selected text and link targets

When you right-click and choose “Call with ManyDial,” the browser passes the selected text or the tel: link URL to the Extension so it can extract the phone number.

C. Extension settings

The Extension stores your preferences locally (see Local Storage & Sync): the ManyDial app URL, default country, and your on/off toggles for auto-highlight, hover popover, right-click menu, confirm-before-call, and tel-link override.

D. Browser tabs

The Extension uses the browser's tabs API to find an existing tab on app.manydial.com so it can focus it and hand off the call without reloading. It does not read the content of unrelated tabs.

3. Permissions and Why We Need Them

Browsers require us to declare the permissions the Extension uses. Here is what each one is for:

PermissionWhy we need it
contextMenusAdds the “Call with ManyDial” option to the right-click menu for selected text and tel: links.
storagePersists your Extension settings (toggles, app URL) in the browser's built-in extension storage.
tabsFinds and focuses an existing ManyDial app tab so we don't open a duplicate.
scriptingInjects a tiny script into the ManyDial app tab to hand off the number via the page's in-browser BroadcastChannel so your active call session is reused instead of reloaded.
notificationsShows a local error notification (e.g. when a selected text isn't a valid number).
host: <all_urls> (content script)Required so the content script can run on every page to detect phone numbers and decorate tel: links. The content script is read-only and never exfiltrates page content.
host: app.manydial.comRequired so the Extension can hand off the number to your ManyDial Call Center tab.

4. Local Storage & Sync

  • Settings are stored in chrome.storage.sync (Chrome / Edge / Brave) or its Firefox equivalent. If you are signed in to your browser profile, the browser itself may sync these settings between your devices through your browser vendor's sync service. ManyDial never receives this data.
  • Recent calls, if recorded, are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device only and are not synced or transmitted.
  • You can clear all Extension data at any time from your browser's extension settings, or by removing the Extension.

5. When Data Leaves Your Device

The Extension itself does not send data to ManyDial servers. Network traffic only happens when:

  • You click a detected number, the hover button, the right-click menu, or a tel: link — and confirm if the confirmation popup is enabled.
  • At that point the Extension opens or focuses app.manydial.com/manual-call and passes the phone number (and a short, locally generated request ID) to it.
  • The ManyDial web app then places the call through your normal Call Center session. Any data handling from that point on is governed by the main ManyDial Privacy Policy.

We do not transmit page URLs, page content, browsing history, or any data about pages other than the phone number you chose to call.

6. Third Parties & Tracking

  • The Extension contains no third-party analytics, telemetry, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share any data collected by the Extension. The Extension does not aggregate or transmit usage statistics back to ManyDial.
  • We do not use Extension data for purposes unrelated to the core single purpose of the Extension (click-to-call).
  • We do not use or transfer Extension data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

7. Security

Because data stays on your device, the most important security boundary is your own browser profile. We additionally:

  • Ship the Extension exclusively through official browser stores (Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Firefox AMO). Brave installs the Chrome Web Store build.
  • Communicate with the ManyDial app only over HTTPS.
  • Use Manifest V3, which restricts background code execution and remote code loading.
  • Limit content-script behavior to read-only DOM scanning plus minimal in-page decoration (an underline class and a small popover).

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is a business productivity tool intended for users of the ManyDial Call Center platform. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the Extension's store listing.
